Navigation Tips-Bocas Del Toro

Cool

Taxis in Bocas del Toro, Panama:

Taxis on the main island of Isla Colon are available all over. Isla Colon is also known as ‘Bocas Town’. Taxis in Bocas are clearly marked yellow trucks. During the day, they cost $.50, at night $1, to the airport $2; to the nearest beach (known as Las Cabañas) is only $.50USD.  We recommend getting in the taxi with a bunch of friends and riding along the coast of Bocas del Toro’s main island. This will only cost about $3 per person. Taxis are a great way to assist you in getting around town if you are arriving to Bocas with heavy luggage from the airport or the Almirante water taxi. However, if you are in town to enjoy the sites, the people, and the laid back ambiance, we suggest walking. Walking is the best way to catch the spirit of Bocas Town as the main street is along the waterfront.  If you’re in a rush, rent a bicycle. Negotiate them for $10-$12 per day.

Turn Left at Punta Peña, and take the road to Almirante (68 km).

Near the boat launches, you can live the car in a parking lot for about $3-5 per day.
