What to Bring:
- Passport
- Flash light (hands free is best)
- River shoes, or sandals with straps (protect feet from corral)
- Sun block spf 30-50-70 (They are the children of the sun. You are not!)
- Lotion or Aloe based cream
- Bathing suit(s)
- Beach shirts, shorts (to protect your skin during peak hours in the Caribbean)
- Sun Glasses
- Bug spray
- Towel or Sash (this is a light sheet that can serve as a body wrap, towel, protection from sun, or blanket)
Extras:
- Plastic grocery sack (for wet clothes) Big Garbage Bags (to protect bags from rain during transport)
- Zip lock bag (for wallet, camera, money, cigarettes, etc)
- SMALL BILLS (There is practically no change in San Blas, and NO ATMs)
- Toilet paper
- Shampoo, small soap, razor
- Sandals-slip on
- iPod with stereo and batteries
- Jugs of Water, beer, liquor, sodas, cigarettes, water bottle, snacks, extra food if desired
- Guitar
(We have these things in San Blas, but everything is cheaper in the city with greater selection)
HAVE ON YOU: YOU must have your Passport handy in the morning, NOT packed and strapped to the top of the truck! You'll want bug spray handy, because you'll mostly only need it when we arrive to the river before going out into open sea. Have your serong or towel handy for the boat ride (that sun is strong and you'll get toasted quickly. Don't ruin your vacation from a burn the first day!)
The Truth about San Blas:
Bathrooms in San Blas are less than conventional. In fact, they are rustic, and this takes some getting used to.
